Grab Their Interest In a Hurry!

          One key to successful networking is to consistently capture the curiousity & interest of others in just one or two sentences.

          You have very little time to make an impression. Seconds - probably fewer than 10 seconds. If you don’t know exactly what you are going to say in any networking situation, you are lost.

          The best way to come up with curiousity-evoking, interest-grabbing lines is to model the best lines used by others, either individuals or companies. Study mottoes, ad headlines, pick-up lines … anything is fair game. Work at adapting your models to what you do.

          Below is a link to a list of 100s of winning ad slogans you can share with your team. As you read each one, think how you can adapt it to what you do, and grab that interest & curiousity. You’ll probably come up with a couple dozen pretty good ones out of this list, and that could make a real difference to your networking results.

          I highly recommend you look over this list every 2 or 3 months, and think about what you and your team are doing at that time. This list will always be a source of new ideas for you.

          The key is to engage your prospect in a conversation. Talk in a normal tone of voice, NOT the enthusiastic cheerleader voice. Find out what makes your prospect tick. What personality type are they? What REALLY motivates them? Find out EXACTLY what they are looking for when they consider buying a product or service like yours.
